Background Job (job offer, company, criminal, future)

I was given a job offer pending my background and drug results. They started it on 7/8/17 and now its 7/20/17. Why is the background taking so long? I never waited this long for the background chche? Should i be worried, and i really dont want to keep calling.. I even thought about calling the screening company. They sent me a copy of my background. The only thing thats pending is my drug and criminal results
