Here is a fact (not b*******g or moaning), I received a snail mail rejection letter today from the part-time, minimum wage production artist job that I interviewed for at the casino job fair. I guess I called *that* one.

It was a generic letter from HR, which said I wasn't the "right fit."

I wonder how many other people who went to the casino job fair received the same snail mail generic "you are not the right fit" rejection letters. I bet quite a few, if not most.

But I must stay perky and happy.

For the next few weeks I will be working at my mom's house doing spring cleaning, you know, doing a job that Americans will not do. I am getting paid $300 to deep clean seven rooms in her house. Then in June I am going to paint her basement walls and fix her cellar stairs for $500. Not bad crumbs. The $800 might pay for my car inspection in May.

I'll take the crumbs. Thank you Universe.

Yeah, that is what I figured. Looks like I am not going to be called for the third interview for the part-time HR position at the casino. It is already Wednesday and the third interviews were supposed to be this week. More than likely, after the hiring manager found out I was as qualified as her, she just gave me the third interview story as BS because she didn't want to tell me to my face that "I was not the right fit." There are no third interviews. If they do hire someone (doubt it), the job will be back up on the boards within 90 days.

Job searching is fun!!

Speaking of *this* casino...the day after my interview with the hiring manager, the local online paper ran a story about how the casino is going to build a new casino, seven miles from my house. They are going to need 200 new workers for the new casino. It is supposed to open in 2018.

Okey, dokey, I spoke to the casino HR Recruiter previously (before I had the interview with the Hiring Manager for the part-time HR job). Shouldn't she call me about the new 200 jobs coming up for the new casino? She has my application, she has spoken to me in person, there must be some job I am qualified for and can do at the new casino.

But alas, that is not how HR works. You have to apply for each and every individual job that they post and heaven forbid you be under or over qualified for each and every job you apply for. It is a fre****g casino, it doesn't take rocket science experience to cash out slot machines or work behind the cafeteria counter. I am willing to do any job!

Really, I should just pick up cans by the side of the road, it is more productive for society than working at a casino where people go to be legally scammed out of their money. Casinos are New York State's new economy. No wonder we are in the toilet.

I wouldn't work at a casino myself because I am biased. If I tried to work there, it would just remind me of how as a child I was forced to lose the only house I've ever known to think of as mine. I wouldn't even ever play let alone work there but I agree with you. It shouldn't be that difficult to get it.

I have thought about that too but it takes a lot of cans to make a decent amount of cash. You can also sell pine cones empty perfume bottles and toilet paper rolls apparently. I'm just not good at selling stuff because the last time I sold something I probably could have gotten more out of it. It's too much like self employment. I am thinking of selling my hair though that got cut years ago (it just sits in my closet in a bag)..just not sure how much it is worth.
