About a year ago I applied to an announcement that had 78 locations listed. It stays open for about a year and if any of those places gets a vacancy for that position, they can pull names from the applicants who qualify. Someone from Washington state called my boss this morning and left a message. Totally forgot about the job. It's "expedited hiring authority". Have not been contacted.
Austin is off the table. NOT SELECTED. I got notification on another job but i can't get on the site on this phone. I think it's the Arkansas job. I'll check when i get home. Status change...
New job opened in DC, 2 announcements. Last place I'd want to work geographically. I saved them, will think about it and will probably apply when it's not 3am. I have 17 total applications hanging out there. Some are pretty old but are still "in the green". Hoping to go where God wants me. (Did it drive anyone crazy that I was spelling received incorrectly?) UPDATING MY ACTIVE LIST

Still thinking about DC (2 announcements).
There's a job in Oakland CA but I'm not feeling it. (2 announcements for that one)
I'm hesitant to apply for National Park jobs because those are the first agencies to furlough. They're not easy to get either. I interviewed for one that furloughed every year during off-season.
Okay, here's a first for me. The rule is, when the job closes TODAY, it closes at midnight.
I logged on to apply for a job that was closing that day. It was about 4 in the afternoon and the job had been closed and was not accepting applications. That was a bummer. I sent an email to the HR person listed on the announcement and didn't get a reply. (Army civilian flashbacks)
I applied to another Texas job. I got an email saying there was missing info on my resume. I forwarded the email and the resume to the POC on the announcement because the info was there. I think some operating systems garble the resume when it opens. Anyway, I'm REFERRED on that one.
Interviewing Thursday for NC job. This is the location we would like to ultimately end up/retire to. The job it's not a promotion. It might offer a promotion in the future but no guarantees. I don't think the money issue should hold me back. I've got a decent retirement built up. It's an easier cost of living there...
