Okay so I applied at UPS for a seasonal helper. I passed the interview and everything and went to orientation. After the orientation I started to have second thoughts the other guys in the room were way bigger than so it was kind of intimidating. After the orientation I pretty much went tot he manager who was giving the orientation and I told him that I don't think its for me. I wasn't nasty or anything I was just honest even the manager commended me and said that he appreciated my honesty. That was about 8 months ago.
Technically my first day of work was orientation however I never was on the job with a driver.

I've been pretty much exercising since then and i'm not as weak as I was. UPS is hiring again but this time I tried applying for a package handler. I read the job description and I believe that I can do it not to mention its part time and I will be heading to college this fall and they have 4-5 hour shift which is perfect.

However after I applied to that position after that it said that I am not eligible to be rehired.

How can I convince UPS to give me another chance? Is it possible that its only for a year before I can reapply?

Should I write a letter to them asking them for another chance? What should I say?

The package handler seems like a good job its part time, all your doing is putting boxes on a conveyor belt and making sure that its going to the right place, you don't have to deal with customers.

Do you still have the contact information of your previous hiring manager, HR rep or the interviewers? Write to them and see if they can help.

The big question is, "Why would they even consider rehiring you"l. Answer: They won't.

They gave you a chance, and you walked out the first day. This proved to them you are not a reliable worker..

Give up and find another job. You are done there. Today with computer records, you are on the No Hire List anywhere else in the company you may even apply.

I have hired hundreds of people back when I was in the corporate world, and would not consider rehiring you if you did something like that at my company. Nor will any other employer you pull a stunt like that.

I agree. They might say you can re-apply after a year, but they will never give you another chance. Why give you another chance just to have you walk out on them again. There's plenty of other candidates to pick from, they don't need you.

There are always exceptions, but I believe UPS is known for not rehiring people. In other words, their rehire policy is fairly strict. Unfortunately in your case, they already indicated that you are not eligible for rehire. So I'm not sure what you can do...

UPS pays pretty well, they traditionally have enough applicants that they really don't need to consider those who already walked out on them.

If this episode had happened with Wendy's or McDonalds, you'd have a better chance to get back in their good graces.

The worst they can say is no. If you still have the contact information give it a try. I am doubtful it will happen, but you'll never know unless you try.
