Probably because it's not a lot of permanent opportunities and it's better to have a job that is temporary.

well my current assignment ends next wednedsay, 10/31. same agency sent me for an interview this past tuesday....which took a good 45 mins.....called the recruiter 2x, got voicemail...3rd time she answered...and was asking when i can start....

i said 11/5/2018 so I have a couple days off (unpaid i know) but time to get my apt cleaned and spiffied up....

still looking for a FT opportunity...and as @moneymkt said, better having a job, even if it's temp, instead of being idle.....

Exactly, it's a good thing to have somewhere to go that's not fast food while continuing to make an impression which could lead to a permanent position. And the other thing is Unemployment is only 6 months now so someone would have to be extra foolish not to consider a temp agency.

ooh and here is another question. since 10/31/2018 is my last day, yes, i'll show up as normal...do the usual meet and greet.....then do lunch...then....will they say well.... it's been good....you can leave now....and they'll allow me to leave after lunch....or will they require me to stay until the usual 6pm so i get my 8 hours for timecards....

It is actually 27% but that is still lousy odds. I hope you were able to get a sense as to if either company really does that and under what time frame.
