Currently a hospital nurse but due to family issue would need/prefer to find something that is remote at home. Not sure if there's anything in the same field or similar with transitional skills...

Look for health educator companies or sales.

I'm a nurse that works from home. It takes a bit of 'in house' work to get there tho, at least two years. I am a clinical documentation specialist (CDI) - I review inpatient records and consult with providers regarding improvements to their documentation. There is some medical coding required as well, so it can set you up for that alternate if you get good at the coding side.

Usually the remote CDI jobs require certification (exam requires two years experience) and at least a BSN. If you don't have BSN/MSN, you might want to consider getting your degree to help with any job change. ACDIS (the CDI organization) has an 'apprentice' class that's reasonably priced (for them) that could help with entry into the field. It's new, so unclear if it ACTUALLY will help.

Some of the online schools (like mine, WGU) hire online/remote faculty - that requires at least a masters degree but that's another option for remote work. Then there's case management, UR/UM..

The Medical billing system can use MAJOR improvement. Unfortunately from my observation they do not hire experienced nurses to improve it!!!!
