Some of you know my story. I have been interviewing for a job since late June. I had what I believe was the final interview on Friday and was told they should have news this week. On Monday I sent thank yous to the two main people involved. One wrote back right away saying thanks for coming in, it was great for the team to meet you, we should be in touch shortly. The other person who is the main person I’d be working with wrote back today. Said thanks for the note, I enjoyed meeting with you as well and having you meet the team. We’ll be in touch shortly!
I take this as a decent sign... but maybe they are just being polite as I’ve been dragged through quite a bit.
If I’m not getting the job would they bother to answer me?
2) So now you know you don't need to obsess over things like this, right?
And during your next job search (if there is one) you won't try to read something into every little communication -- or lack there of, right?
This is true whether you get the job or not. How many times does it need to be said. Apply and keep moving on, applying to other jobs until you get an offer.
