I currently want to expand my social circle and while that's kind of difficult because of the pandemic, I think an easy way to do so would be to simply get a new job with people in my age group.
I'm 24 and I'm currently working at Wal-Mart. Most of my co-workers are older people, middle-aged and elderly. It sucks not being able to socialize with people in my age demographic, so I'm just curious as to what jobs typically have a plethora of people around my age.
Well, consider that workers of that age probably don't have much experience or highly developed skills, look at jobs that are more physical and less specialized. Service industry, fast food, supermarkets, restaurants, outdoor recreation-related work, amusements, music stores, electronics stores, malls, lots of other retailers out there besides Walmart. Think about businesses you go to yourself. What are the ages of the people who help you?

It seems like all of the employees at Target are in that age group, as well as all of the servers at the major chain restaurants like Red Robin, BJ's and Red Lobster.

This is probably the best answer, assuming that the young person does not have a specific skill set in X (i.e... I have an Accounting degree, therefore I want a job in accounting) then the young person will most likely have to go for jobs that are more generalized, that don't require a specific degree in X. So retail, fast food, recreation help in zoo's, amusement parks, museums etc...

IT jobs immediately come to mind, and restaurant jobs. Obviously, IT jobs would be more secure right now. Accounting is a mixed bag, with all ages.
