I recently applied for a position through a well-known career site, for a possible job at a well-known insurance company. Someone from that company immediately set up a Zoom interview with me.
During the interview, the interviewer went into this very long spiel about how great their company is, and had powerpoint slides listing out how great it would be to work there. It would have lasted an hour if I had not interrupted him and told him it didn't seem right for me. He often stopped and asked me little questions, using my name in a fashion that made me feel unseasy.
The insurance industry tends to be relatively aggressive when recruiting. While I have not had your experience, I have had a lot of them call me and even had jobs offered without an interview. It's sort of odd, especially since my career is in the physical sciences and engineering.
