Hey all,
How is everyone doing today? Hopefully very well. I have a few questions. Currently i am living in Pittsburgh, Pa (28 and single) working for Wells Fargo Financial as a credit manager (loan lending and such, mortgage refinance, credit analysis and such) and have been doing that for about a year and a half. I have an MBA in corporate finance and two undergrad degrees in Political Science and History. Recently my father has been sick in South Carolina near Charleston, and i am relocating down there in two weeks. If anyone lives in Charleston, do you have any suggestions about what may be available for me with my experience and education? Even suggestions from guests that post on this particular forum not knowing the area would be helpful too. Tough situation i'm caught in right now and Wells Fargo doesn't really have too much stuff in Charleston (which it would make sense to go thru my company). Thoughts?

MAN THAT SUCKS!

First thing I would do is NOT tell HR that you are 'quitting" but instead look into Family and Medical Leave. Even if you do quit at least you can pay to carry to health insurance through COBRA.

Next use LinkedIn, facebook and anything else to leverage an in. The financial firms are in bad shape, but tend to have revolving doors, needing people to replace those that are leaving/getting let go. The MBA may or may not be helpful -- what school is it from and what PRACTICAL value does it give you for an edge?

Have you checked out the South Carolina forum? I am sure there are many people there that could answer some of your questions. Good luck!
