Honey, play the game with them. When they ask you your hobbies, say "Well, I horseback ride, I just love Princess, and I usually try to do 3 miles a day, that's running, not walking, and went I go on vacation, I'm scuba diving!...I am a real risk taker!"
Give them what they wanna hear. When they talk about the long hours, say "Yes, Oh yes, oh sure, of course."
Now, when they offer you a job, you tell them what you want hour wise. You know you don't want to work for them anyway and work 100 hours a week, so just waste their time, the way they are wasting YOUR time. If they say, "Oh, we wanted someone who works 100 hours a week..." , then you say "Oh, that's too bad, because I am so perfect for this job and very skilled in it, and I guess I will have to accept the other job on the table right now."
Have some fun with them.
It will give you a whole new sense of self-esteem.

If they waste your time playing silly games, play back.
Tell them what they wanna hear, but don't be desperate. You don't really want these guys. Just give them a bigger hook than they are giving you.
These places aren't going to stop the game playing until it becomes an overload for them.
