One of my old college buddys works for edward jones. I don't think that job is for everyone though, most sink rather than swim as an advisor going door to door trying to get clients.

Edward Jones has the most invasive hiring process ever. You basically have to agree to an anal probe. I'm exaggerating but not really.

The article is not exactly correct - I work for one of the companies on the list and am expecting to be laid off next week along with many others. There are also a number of other companies on the list that I personally know have had and continue to have high layoffs -- the fact is that yes some companies are hiring but only for specific jobs and in many cases college grads so that they don’t burn that bridge.
