The interview I have on monday is a postion called JOB PLACEMENT ADVISOR and it deals with placing students who graduate into employment.
Th company still called me for a interview even though my resume didn't have a heavy job placement background, just a background a placing students in job training programs instead of placing them into jobs. But I will still go just to get the job interview feel back and to let them know why I would be willing to take on a challenge. So is it ok to accept a challenge the way the economy is now?
I would in a heartbeat.....who knows you may even like it.
i mean they must feel i can do the job from my resume but i will see how it turns out. i guess i got imtimidated from reading the job description tonight.
Oftentimes, a person has job skills that are transferable to an entirely different field.
I agree.
Even in a great job market I would consider it. The last job I had (and the one that opened the door to the field I am in) was considered engineering, but a different product type, customer, etc. I had no xp designing anything they made, and no knowledge of the product. Didn't even know where to start. But during the interview I was able to answer all their questions by pulling from my experience in other fields.
Another interview that didn't work out was software design related. I didn't do so hot but it was worth a shot. What really hurt was that I know I could have done the job.
Try not to say "no, I can't do that". Relate it to past experience.
well they saw something in your resume that scored you an interview. go for it!
