I don't think that changes anything though... I'm sorry you're upset, but it looks like they called you as soon as they knew something. They couldn't have really called before 8am, could they?

It's best to give your cellphone as an alternate number to call you. That way,if you're already on the road and plans change, you don't have to continue.

So what's your point? They did better than I assumed they could do? How early do you think the HR person got to work, and could ascertain that the interviewer wouldn't be in? I think they must have been pretty on the ball to call you before 8am.

I felt bad for you, but I think you're lucky they called you in time and the stars aligned to keep you from wasting 4 hours of your day. I get that you're upset, but everything worked out and it sounds like they did all they could.

I just called and resheduled for 2pm tomorrow only because

1. I paid $100 for a new top coat

2. I had the option of going to a afternoon appt.

There are still a lot of variables here. 1. Do you want the job? 2 What kind of job is it?
3. if its a publc speaking or visible job, then maybe its a good thing, (you mentioned you cut your lip while shaving, ergo your physical appearance is not at its' best) 4. I've been late to interviews, traffic, flat tire, and its left a bad impression on the employer, here, you have an advantage, they will apologize for the inconvenience, you have the upper-hand.
This could all play into your hands. It's groundhog day, maybe she saw her shadow. Give her a break, you're not the only person applying for the job. 5. According to the demands of the job, I have had tests where HR did things like this to see if I had patience enough to handle situations similar in a regular job situation. This may be your first test.

It's just so hard for me not to believe that the Superbowl being last night didn't have anything to do with this-lol I mean if yesterday was a regular sunday then I wouldn't have thought anything of it.

Your interviewer is a woman, right? I don't see too many women get rip-roaring hammered the night of Superbowl...biting nails maybe as in last night's last 29 seconds, but wasted enough not to go to work? Doubtful there buddy, LOL!

And if it was? so what? she has the job, and the right to take some time off. You are not special to no one. Just another interviewee in a long line of people she is going to interview for the job.
