Sending your resume in AFTER the rest of the desperate hoard sets yours apart, so said the article.

I also heard that based on "They'll remember the last people the most". Dunno if thats true, though.

Yes, as an applicant, you are. That is part of the interview process. If you cannot play the game properly by dressing appropriately for the interview, having a nicely done resume, being on time, and conducting appropriate and prompt followup, then I do not want to hire you. Failure to follow the proper procedures in the interview process means that you will not follow the procedures after you land the job and will most likely be a problem employee.
If you don't like it, marry somebody with money.

I don't feel like I need to tell a employer nothing if I got another offer

Doesn't bother me, just got a job like that because they fired 2 people and needed to fill those positions quickly. She looked over my resume and saw I had the experience and just needed my references to take to HR. Me being Tall and Handsome didn't hurt either-lol

I have lots of people who work for me that will never get promoted because they are simply a body going through rote tasks. Fine as far as that goes, but they are not showing me that they can handle anything more.
I also have people working for me, or who have worked for me in the past, who excelled in their position. They get offered promotions.

I agree 100%. I plan to do a lot better than the previous career coach and the ones that are already there.

Of course you don't. But most people who have jobs, or have accepted them, are not worried about callbacks, and therefore not the subject of the thread.
Really your comment simply illustrates my original point from the other side. You don't feel as if you need to communicate with employers with whom you applied because you do not need them. They do not feel that they need to communicate with applicants that they will not hire for the same reasons. It is a waste of time.

That's what I mean, it's ok for a employer to ignore you when they want another applicant but not ok for applicant to ignore them when have another job offer

I have a better one for you . They contact you through an email and you call and leave your number and they wait a week and call you then and they want to see you in an hr and you tell them you have another interview. Then they say well you should schedule with me first cause I contacted you through email first. I found that to be rude and presumptious of an employer to do that and I think that gives them a very bad name in the community when the word gets out .

How about when they post a job (agency), you apply. They have no clue. They email you 5 x about this great job, talk it up like you are the perfect fit, you say I submitted my resume, they never get back to you.

I think it is ridiculous that no one in America has the commen decency and/or commen courteousy to be mannerly enough to give an automated reply on your applications IF they are not interested. There are a couple of companies that send out an automated letter through the mail which is a nice refreshing polite way of conducting business. It's just ridiculous the rudeness. I mean the way I look at it is, if someone is nice enough to donate some of there time and energy to YOU, then it would be a little bit polite to give some kind of response but again who has morals and kindness anymore. Thats my two-cents don't spend it all in one place.
