First you should do some homework about the business, its products, stock stories etc. Then maybe comment based on one of those. Its not an inappropriate topic just have to phrase it right.
I think it's a POINTLESS question because if the company was doing bad you wouldn't even be in there discussing job openings
I don't know....I went to work for a local newspaper that had some serious financial situations. I was upset too because I seriously doubted their stability.
Then....they were purchased by the Tribune Company.
Then....the Tribune Company filed Chapter 11.
Then....
Quote:
Tribune Co. said today it has signed an agreement to sell the iconic franchise to the Ricketts family. The family is paying about $800 million to acquire a 95 percent interest in a package of assets: the team, Wrigley Field and Tribune Co.'s 25 percent stake in Comcast SportsNet Chicago, which broadcasts many Cubs games on cable television.
The agreement values the franchise and related assets at $845 million, less than the Rickett's winning bid in January of $900 million. Tribune Co. will retain a 5 percent ownership stake in the joint venture.
And all was well.
So, again, I'm not sure we can tell what is going on with a major company by asking. The person we are asking may really not know.
I love my job, I love the Tribune Company for being more than an excellent employer. It all worked out well....but had I not taken the job based on where they were financially when I was first hired....the loss would have been all mine.
Sometimes it not just the health of the company you are worried about its the division, plant or department. And this is usually harder to find out from public sources.
Most companies will check your credit before giving you an offer.
It's fair to check theirs.
If the company is private, it's not really possible to look on the
internet for quarterly reports and balance sheets, but there still
might be news of new business and expansion and such.

Plus they are not going to be truthful since they are trying to fill a opening
