Yes, to all of you. The insurance company will drop you, not cover, and if you do report that you are driving for business purposes, and your employer reimburses you thoses expenses, then they can request a DMV. (Thats what this topic was about) If I am driving my vehicle, and not getting reimbursed, the employer has no business concerned about my driving record. Pay my insurance, give me a car, then you can worry, until then, NO WAY>

Actually, you never want to reaffirm. As long a you keep paying, you don't lose your collateral. And even if you reaffirm, the bank won't report to the credit bureau.

But in some (if not many) cases, if you don't reaffirm, the judge may order your car or home to be taken away and not just let you "keep paying it", that's why reaffirmation exists.

I've not heard anything about this on the news except once when I was watching CNN. Do you guys think this will be adopted into law? Are there certain states that will opt out? It seems like TN, Texas, and CA are or have made it illegal to ask for credit reports for employment purposes.

I hope this passes it is a very ridiculous practice for employers to request and or require credit checks. Last year I remember refusing to get my credit ran and employers looked at me like I was crazy, it is such an evasion of privacy.

Just a reminder -- if you support this bill, take a moment to let your Representative know and urge that he or she support its passage.

This link will take you to more info about the bill -- and a further link to your Representative:

I believe I am going to put this on my Facebook page. This is such an important bill that will get swept under the rug if people don't know to stay on top their representatives.

There is no way a person's credit should be checked for employment purposes. NO WAY AT ALL.

Some of us have great credit and could use it as an edge in this impossible job market. There are some jobs that I would not hire you if I found out you couldn't balance your checkbook or spend responsibly.

Bottom line, we need less laws and restrictions on the businesses that employ us, NOT MORE!!
