Backstory.
I applied with this retailer in the middle of Sept, they called me at the end of Sept for a phone int w/head of HR. The next day I did a phone int with the regional, then the next day they then did a background check. The next day they scheduled to fly me out to the West Coast for an in person int with 2 regionals. I did my interview last week, the next day I spoke with the Head HR person who said I would be flying to NYC this week to meet with the head regional for all of the US, and their US president of Ops, if he was available.

When I met with the regionals on the West Coast, they told me my interview in NYC would involve store tours and something was said like "Thats where they took that girl for her tour", then eyerolling. I jokingly said "Did she not make it through her store tour" and they were laughing and said "No" with more eyerolls. I got the vibe they were not impressed and did not like this girl.

So how many people are they interviewing? The position is based on the West Coast, and I live in Florida. I'm sure they could have found someone, somewhere between Florida and Seattle for this position. This company relocates their people all over, and my relo is not an issue since I don't have kids or own a home. I think with the money they are laying out for booking flights with less than 7 days notice, and hotel accomodations; that there aren't that many that got to this point.

I don't know what to make of it. As soon as I pass one interview they immediatly send me on to the next, are they doing this with all of the candidates; or am I ahead of the pack right now? I would think since they are flying people all over, they would interview the first choice and if that fell through then fly out other candidates.

I'm extremely paranoid right now. This is literally my dream job, and I would be so appreciative of it. I think I am still in shock I am this far along in the interview process. I don't think it's hit me yet.

Smile Job interviews

My niece was also fortunate - she ended up having 9 interviews - they told if she passed #7, she was in but now she knows #8 was the clincher. (Medical sales). Loves it.

9 interviews? Geez, how does anyone get a job now? I joke about it but it really is becoming a "lottery".

Smile 9 interviews

When my niece got further along with the interviews - past #4, it seemed they wanted to know how flexible she was. She went to Georgia one day and turned out to be a good interview; then as she was leaving, the guy said "I booked you to go to Indiana tomorrow afternoon" so I think they were testing her flexibility. (I mean, she had to fly back to Florida from GA and then the next day, go to Indiana!)

But, she finally got the job.
