I had an interview friday and mailed my thank you letter today. Should I still follow up with a phone call? This is a job I am very interested in. Just not sure how much is too much.
IMO, the thank you letter is sufficient. If they intend to hire you, don't worry, they'll let you know.
If you feel compelled to make a phone call, wait until after the date has passed when they said they would make a decision. Add a few days to allow for unexpected delays in the decision making and for a potential reject letter to arrive in the mail. Then call.
They said I would be getting a call the first of the week from their boss and the hiring manager from their main branch. From the way it sounded it would be on Monday. Just really nervous and probably jumping the gun. lol
How common or likely is it to receive a rejection letter/email if you made it to an interview and you're not chosen?
I was expecting to hear something yesterday although they didn't say they would contact me. He just said "we will be conducting interviews friday so we'll see what happens". I had a phone interview last Wed.

Getting less and less common. Some companies still send snail mail reject letters, though, so it could take a few days.
But whether or not they send it via snail mail, you should always give them a little leeway--there's innumerable reasons why the decision may have been delayed.
Congrats! There are jobs out there, it's a matter of finding a good fit.
And you made the right decision by not calling, the last thing you want is to irritate the person who makes the decision if you will get a job or not.
Thank you!! I think this job is a perfect fit for me. Its almost exactly what I am looking for. It will kind of be a dream come true if I get it!
