So you do believe in the other, 'less smart' gods?
The bible was written by the same people that it claims are "god's chosen people." Who would be surprised?
Those who did write the Bible were followers of God. Yet most of their nation did not. And God tell us that when he allows the Jewish people to return to Israel in the last days, He is not doing this for their sakes. God tells us these people polluted His name where ever they wandered. God really does not think very highly of the Jewish people. And you will see this all through Scripture.
There are other Gods, but these God's only exist in the minds of men, and are supported by Satans deception. Satan is the God of this world, yet his power is limited.
I apologize to the [sometimes] extremely sappy sensibilities and fragile egos on City Data for sounding like I blew a gasket there, but I did for a minute. All this talk about Israel being "God's people" as if to say it gives them carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want to do.
And then this gets to me:
"Well I do feel sorry for the Palestinians butIsrael is God's chosen people so blah blah blah..."
Yes they are.
Deu 32:9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
Deu 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Deu 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
Deu 32:12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

Any other corroborative sources you can provide? That one side of the story thing gets to e at times ESPECIALLY when the same people making grand claims are the same people writing said book that makes the grand claims.
And if the bible was written in Liechtenstein, guess who the "chosen people" would be?
You know, I like that country. Beautiful scenery. I might not have too much of a problem with then being some god's chosen people. They never robbed a freight train and I don't think they're into stealing land and bombing folks.
The only thing that will ever truly convince you of the reality of God is to have a real personal encounter with him. When you ridicule and reject him how could that ever be possible. However he is-real(Israel) and the bible is a book about His-story (History) as well as future events. The Bible says if you will draw near to me I will draw near to you (James 4:8) and it is not just for Jews they introduced God to the world But through Jesus it is now for everyone Jew and Gentile. Try it you will never be the same but there are steps you must take or you will always stand on the outside of understanding
