Matt, correction -- you can't get every spice imaginable at River Market. I just remembered...we went shopping for spices so I could make curry pastes, and there were some pretty obscure ingredients on my list that I couldn';t find at the River Market. So write this down -- 105th just west of Metcalf, across from USA Baby -- terrific Indian grocer. Can't remember the name of the place, but they carry loads of spices, and if you shyould get a cat or dog when you're here...our vet is just next door. Terrific vet -- and holistic!

Check out a website called VegKC.com. You don't have to be a vegetarian to take advantage of it's directory of stores and farmers' markets, which seems pretty useful.

Also try the localharvest.org website. Search using a KC zip code to get info not only on markets but CSA's, as well.

You bet I will! I've already made several trips up to KC from Springfield, and on the most recent one, I made it to the city market. I really liked its feel! I can't wait to move and get into the swing of things. Thanks for all the posts!!!

There are several Asian markets in the area that have hard to find items and regular items tend to be cheaper. Check out Chinatown Market and Little Saigon at 3rd/Grand as well as a couple others a bit further east of 5th.
