Not to worry, you rarely see this kind of bickering here (except maybe about college football and basketball because the city's loyalties tend to be divided about those).

They speak the truth with regard to the Missouri vs Kansas divide, though. It has a lot to do with economics and which state can give out more corporate welfare to entice companies to move a few miles.

Kansas City's dangerous urban areas are actually more dangerous than St. Louis'

St. Louis doesn't have a single neighborhood on this most dangerous list from last year: 25 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods

Come back to the St. Louis thread and let some of the smart posters there explain the reasons why those "Most Dangerous Cities" lists are wildly misleading.

No doubt KC has some really bad areas but another view is that they are highly concentrated on the E Sides, which are easy to avoid. The rest of the metro has crime that is more on par with other cities.

Given that STL consistently ranks top 5 as a city yet a single hood does not rank in top 25 implies that STL city wide has issues or at least more distributed.

Or it shows that the entire methodology used in the Morgan Quitno rankings is flawed -- the FBI even says so.

Anyway, let's get back to topic,, we all know that Christmas is coming soon, I want to share what is there to do in Kansas City during this holiday season.

In my case, I will go see some lights and movies, I will also go for ice skating and hit the slopes at snow creek and lastly I will go to a Casino.

We would always go on a tour of some of the better light displays in the metro.

Obviously KC is awesome during the holidays with the Country Club Plaza and Crown Center, but there are some other spots around town that are fun too.

Some that come to mind.

Hit up the Santa Train when it visits Union Station (only in town for a few days, so have to know when it’s there)

Riss Lake in Parkville. Upper bracket homes all lit up with classic style white lights. Looks awesome.

Chicago Street in Blue Springs is a huge display covering an entire neighborhood that likes to focus on the religious side of Christmas

Longview Lake probably still has their huge drive through display, just don’t even try to go there on a Saturday night, go on a weeknight

Around 151st and Ridgeview? In Olathe (we always just found it somehow), there is a large neighborhood display of giant Christmas cards

Mission Hills, again we just find the area, but it’s near state lane. They string lights high into the trees and across the streets, it’s neat.

Barney Allis Plaza in Downtown sort of gets overlooked with Crown Center and the Plaza being so popular, but it’s neat to walk around and enjoy the computer controlled lights.

Finally, Zona Rosa, which has the famous crowns that used to hang in downtown kc back when it was a retail mecca.

Did I miss anything?
