If my memory is correct, that drive in was the first business on 23rd and By pass 71 and was there for what seemed like a long time before the corners were further developed.

Silver Doc mentioned he dated a girl who worked there.

Yup, with the additional portion that dead-ends north of Kentucky. For extra credit, what used to be located at the dead-end?

Apparently no one else is familiar with the Cross of Malta Gun Club, which was a skeet-shooting group. They did their shooting up there.

I might have heard of that group at some time or other but the name does not ring a bell for me. I am thinking there was another gun club in the fifties, which was big in Independence but cannot come up with the name at the moment.

I see where Major League Baseball has made a grant to the city of $75,000 to replace the outfield fence at Crysler Stadium. That figure is for materials only and the parks department is going to do the installation.

An Examiner article says that the concrete bleachers in the stadium were added in the 70s. I seem to recall sitting in those concrete bleachers in the 50s.
