I was very sorry to see that. I had a suspicion that when his cancer was announced and the family asked for privacy that it was probably already pretty close to the end. Sad stuff -- anyone figure out a cure for cancer yet? Because it sucks.

So sad. The days of the Royals having legends (that are alive and an active part of the community) is nearing its end.

You dont find people like Splittorff any more. He was a just an amazing person. I met him a few times while living in Blue Springs.

He used to come watch Jen's softball games at KU too (1980's). Just a regular Dad cheering on his daughter.
