I saw on estatesales.net that there are companies that sell or auction home furnishings. My son is moving to KC to attend graduate school and will need everything. With a tight budget where should he go? Can he pay for someone to deliver? Ideally he would like to get it all at once and not shop around. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I feel like trying to get all of your furniture at an estate sale might be tough (although I'm not sure what estatesales.net is and what business might be on there).

For delivery, there is an app called Bungii. I believe it started in KC, and has expanded elsewhere. It is basically Uber, but for people with trucks that will help you move things. If you are trying to furnish an entire apartment, it might not be a good option since it would likely require multiple trips (and it would add up). But, if you find a piece of furniture or two at a sale or some store that doesn't offer delivery, it is a good option.

There are some discount furniture shops around town. It has been a while since I have been to any and my google search seems to indicate that some of the shops I remember have closed. OK Furniture on Truman Road is one that I seem to remember being decent.

Otherwise, Ikea and Nebraska Furniture Mart both have reasonably priced furniture and offer delivery.

Nebraska Furniture Mart has "value produced" furniture that is reasonably priced. Lots of times requires some assembly. And they deliver and sometimes delivery is free depending on what/when you order. He can shop online too.
