We are not helpless we are in control, we are the American Consumer!! If we want we can control what products that are in are stores to buy . If we buy cheap products from other countries that is what will be at our retail stores. If we buy American products, that is what we will be able to buy in our retail stores.
That is why I made a list of of products made in Missouri that you can buy in our retail stores. If we want to get control of our economy buy are products!! It is that easy!!!...

Most people seem to have given up on "buy American". Didn't Walmart even used to use that angle?

Outsourcing makes sense for some things as it keeps prices lower so that things, such as electronics, are affordable to most Americans. But even then, we waste so much and upgrade and buy new when not necessary that maybe we don't deserve cheap prices in that regard. Higher prices could have the side effect of more commerce in regard to repair services and less waste.

There's no doubt needless outsourcing that could otherwise be putting American's to work, but it's difficult for most of us to see what that is and I can't even think of an example.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell the Democrats have really lost their focus on protecting and promoting working-class jobs and even go as far as potentially stifling them. In this regard, my interpretation of Democrats' politics is that they're divisive in that they see folks as either college-bound or college-educated and able to hold a semi-professional or professional job or they're inept and welfare/lower-class. Kind of black and white. I think the real inequality in this country is the divide between what were the former working-class masses (prior to the 1970s) and the nuevo middle-class. The working-class has been left behind. We need more manufacturing jobs here at home to close that gap. That, and better pay and benefits so that folks who need to can actually make a humble career out of current jobs that could provide that, but instead are mostly dead-end, high turnover and low paying, retail, etc. (I'm looking at you Walmart, Target, etc.)

Like I've said before, it's nice to see the new foreign auto industry in the South. That's REAL. However as far as I can tell Republican politics are responsible for that (business friendly, business courting, tax breaks, etc.). We need more of that type of thing. Jobs are #1.

As for buy American, wow, with the kind of vigor liberals have they could really have some influence and make a dent in that if they voted with their dollars and channeled their rhetoric that direction and put their feet where their mouths are. I was thinking about this just the other day as I see Kay Barnes driving around town occasionally in her Mercedes from Germany.

I agree the working-class has been left behind. Thats why we can't depend on others, we need to do it are selves. If we work together we can help make the mush needed changes! We are the American Consumers!
