Hello,
I will be moving to KC soon and would like to live within a quick commute of the VA hospital. I looked at some lofts in the River Market area and wondered if this is a safe neighborhood for a single woman to come home to at night. Also, does anyone have any noise level input on any of the Delaware Lofts? I have read some helpful, negative comments on Soho, River Market Apartments, and Library Lofts.

Default Library Lofts

Local alternative paper did a negative article on Library Lofts in May:

Kansas City - News - Real Loft Living

Of course a lot of their articles can be negative, and the publicity may have inspired the management to clean things up.

Some of the taller apartment buildings downtown have also reported issues with water pressure so you might want to go with a secure but shorter building.

yea, stay out of the tall buidlings!

Come on.

you are fine in the river market area. people jog alone all hours of the night in the area. It's fine. The only problem they have is when a bar closes late at night or something, but I think even that is a non-issue.

If you are commuting to the VA hospital, I would strongly consider Union Hill in Midtown KCMO just south of Crown Center. It would be a straight and easy shot east over to the VA hospital and that area is a very nice and upscale urban neighborhood with amazing skyline views and is closer to areas like the plaza than the river market is. There are many new condos going up in the area as well as some very cool single family homes.

But again, the river market is fine too, even the tall buildings (there are none in the river market)

And ingore the pitch, it's a "shock" paper. They are full of **** most of the time, or at least don't tell the entire story.
