For those unfamiliar, Kauffman School is a college prep, public charter school developed by the Kauffman Foundation. This past year was its inaugural year. As an educator who has always been most interested in nonconventional approaches in schooling, I've been keeping my eye on how things have unfolded for the school thus far...their approach includes a longer school year, a longer school day, and appears to mainly draw from TFA alumni, faculty-wise. Outside of my own observations, I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with the school, and would like to share.

So how does this compare/contrast to the traditional public and private school for quality, curriculum, methods, etc.?

It's only been going for one academic year, which is why I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it and would like to share.

Anyone, anyone? Bueller? Still interested in any firsthand perspectives regarding how this venture is moving along...

I don't know anything about this school, but does anyone remember Project Choice? I had to google it because I didn't remember what it was called, I just remember Ewing Kauffman in probably the 80s pledging to pay for college for certain at risk kids if they did well in school, stayed drug free, etc. The Kauffmans did so many good things for Kansas City.
