Where are the cheapest groceries in Kansas City? (California: coupon, buy)

I am not much of a coupon clipper, but I was wondering if any of you knew which grocery store in the Metro area has consistently lower prices than the others? Thanks.

Does shop and saves still have the Thursday $10 rebate on every $50 dollars you spend?

Aldi's is probably the cheapest, but shopping there feels like shopping in a dollar store.

Saint Louis could use more Trader Joe's (which is my go-to store for most of my groceries).

Aldis has really changed there stores. My brother buys some brand of snack crackers that he can buy else where but cheaper at Aldis. I see very good products there. Not like years ago. Trader Joe's for a specialty item but not a cheap place to yuppie for me.You can buy nice avocado's at Aldi for about 25-39 cents each. Just a bit smaller and a whole lot cheaper than at Walmart or anywhere else.

I would say the ultimate cheapest would be Aldi, but they sometimes lack in their selection of meat and fresh produce. For "middle of the aisle" products as well as some frozen items, believe it or not, Super Target can be cheaper than the name groceries. Overall if you just want to make one stop Ball's Price Chopper is the best. Don't confuse them with Consentino's or the other Price Choppers, they are higher priced than Ball's.

lloks like Aldis may be coming out to California. Fresh and Easy is closing shop and Aldi (which is under the same corporate umbrella as Trader Joes's) may be moving into the vacated stores.
