I know it's no Hallmark but people do like to keep up on local companies so when I saw that Russel Stover was being sold to Lindt I thought of this board

It doesn't sound like much will change here in daily life, but after Boulevard and AMC I wonder who's next. Any guesses? Applebees?

I heard this on KCUR today too. I hope it changes a little, I like swiss chocolate a bit better >.> the dark chocolate from stover is good but the rest are a bit too sweet for my liking. Some new items on the dark side would be pleasent.

Not a food company but sprint was bought out too, I don't know any other local companies that are doing well enough to say that their finances are great. Cerner probably tops the locals list?

High hopes to get some Swiss and Belgian chocolate know-how into the US supermarkets! One would be to make chocolate with fresh milk instead of evaporated milk powder, as it seems to be the US style. Also raise cocoa content and lower the sugar/corn syrup. MUCH healthier! That would move it's positioning a little bit away from 'candy' to 'nutrition'.
