Buying a home built in the 1960s and got a camera check showing dense roots invading the clay sewer line at 100'. Should be able to roto rooter it, but I know roots have a tendency to come back and I don't look forward to roto rooting twice a year for $200 each time.

Should I replace the entire sewer line? How about the $120 insurance offered by Service Line Warranties of America?

In a previous home (not owned by me, but an ex, thankfully), roots in the sewer line were a problem, and after having to have multiple Roto-Rooter sessions per year for a couple of years, ex opted to replace the sewer line. This was in Lee's Summit, and we were told that if the line needed replacing all the way to the junction with the main, we would be financially on the hook for digging up the paved street at that point. Fortunately, it didn't come to that, just the portion under the yard needed to be replaced. This was a 1915-construction home near the downtown.
