$24M, don't know timeline. River Market is turning into a very cool urbane hood with good mix of warehouse loft conversions and new development. If I were to move downtown, would be this area - and the streetcar wraps through it. As a cook, lots of Asian/world markets in area appealing too.

Some confuse with Centropolis a block down from the above, it's well under construction, to open around October...

Ohio developer has contract to buy 6 contiguous West Bottoms buildings, targeting residential. West Bottoms is getting hot too. There are several projects with another 1000 units planned not including this new announcement. For those who don't know, WB is a 19th century warehouse district with dozens of cool old buildings that are starting to convert to more lofts. Is a lot like DUMBO in Brooklyn before renovated. Downtown KC pretty fortunate to have 3 true warehouse loft districts surrounding downtown - Xroads, River Market and West Bottoms.

Nice project for Midtown announced.

Conversion of MGE Building into 101 unit apartments including new penthouse floor, new construction of two six story 54 unit apartment buildings and 20 townhouses and a two story commercial building.

This development will replace what is mostly surface parking right now at 34th and Broadway.

Are you privy to any initial renderings of the what the post renovation projects should look like?

Given the recent revelations about price gouging at Whole Paycheck, I wonder of some of the enthusiasm for the UMKC store has faded a bit...

This development news is thrilling, but I'm a development and urban planning noob. Can someone enlighten me on what the different office space designations (Class A, B, etc.) mean?

More Crossroads District projects announced:

BNIM moving to newly renovated building. They were in the KCPL tower, but that building is being renovated into apartments so they had to leave. It's so nice to see a local company committed to the city and not even bring up the idea of moving across state line (even if only to leverage incentives).

Another hotel coming to Downtown area. The 125 room Boutique hotel will re-purpose two crossroads district buildings.

It will be very similar to other Iron Horse hotels such as this one in Milwaukee

I've stayed at that Iron Horse hotel in Milwaukee...very cool. Next time I am in Milwaukee, I will definitely stay there again.
