This is frustrating.

City should pull the funds and use them on something else.

The Hyatt would look so much better as one slender 40-50 story tower. But this is not terrible either. It will still be a striking addition to that location of downtown.

As much as I dislike the design of the hotel, we need it. We need the conventions, we need the revenue. It won't be the last hotel built downtown, and there will be other structures going up that will compliment the skyline. What else can I say??

I'm not a huge fan, but it will still be a sizable addition to the skyline at around 22-23 floors, especially at that location. Most hotels nowadays aren't that interesting on the outside, they put more of the money on amenities inside for their patrons.

For 310 million we should have mandated a height of 600' to receive city incentives. Comcast built the 940' Comcast center in philly for 540 million.

No need to worry, Dan Coffey won't allow it to be built.

I swear these people just want KC to be some podunk, flyover city.

Well, this is a good news for KC. Hyatt is out. Loews is in. Very nice upgrade from Hyatt. Loews is much more upscale and downtown KC needs a well run, high end modern hotel. Loews is bringing more capital to the table too. Hyatt desperately wants to be back in the downtown KC market, so they could build another hotel too.
