What is traffic like from Leavenworth the the Airport area in the evenings? My husband may get orders to Leavenworth and the closest gym for my son is over by the airport. Looking to see if it is better to just head south to Overland Park to to gym 40 minutes away or over to the airport area that is 30 minutes away

No traffic at all to KCI from Leavenworth. There is nothing between Leavenworth and the KCI area to really generate any traffic and the KCI area (I'm assuming you are talking about Tiffany Springs, Zona Rosa etc) is not a very congestion area. Overland Park on the other hand could be a totally different story. You are likely to encounter heavy traffic if not congestion going out that way.
The KCI area would be far easier and closer and less prone to delays.

It shouldn't take you 30 minutes to get to the airport from Fort Leavenworth. If you're going to Zona Rosa (as kcmo supposed) it should take 20-25 minutes max. If you find something worthwhile in or around Village West in KCK, that might be good too, but there's no reason whatsoever to go to Johnson County to work out.

Lol. I thought the same thing. I was like WTF? But like most people new to KC, people tend to be force fed that JoCO is the only place worthy of much of anything in metro KC.
Also, five minutes with google maps and you can figure this stuff out pretty easily.

Really? There's no gym in Leavenworth? If he's working at Ft. Leavenworth, all military bases have gyms. I wouldn't drive over 5- 10 min. to get to a gym lol! What a waste of time.

Just for reference now that I am here the drive is a piece of cake and if you are looking for a gymnastics gym in the area I highly recommend Mercury Gymnastics!
