You might stay near the airport. I think the rates are ,generally ,less expensive closer to the airport. As you probably noticed, anymore, motel rooms are very expensive and rates continue to creep up there.

"Cheap" and "Safe" do not generally describe the same motel. I suggested Bonner Springs on your other thread and still do. Rivertown is correct, rates are up everywhere. Places we used to stay for $60 a night are now $90 or worse.

I stayed at the American Inn in Blue Springs one night because I got into town super late 2am and didn't want to bother people. I didn't want to pay even $80 for a hotel for a 4-5 hours of sleep either. I was not sure about it at first, but it turned out to be fine. Cost like $45. I did't feel unsafe or anything. Just a very cheap motel.

Good point, kcmo. Hotels like kcmo mentions above are found all over America. The "fleabag motel" or "scum" or etc. hotel description is often flung about errantly I've noticed. We don't like to throw over a hundred bucks at a hotel just to say we stayed in a nice hotel or motel. I'd rather find one cheaper and save that money for ghastly, food, etc.

Yeah, but the one in KCK is a different story. I didn't mean American Inn in general is ghetto. I meant that one in KCK is.

I do like Super 8, one in Desoto is nice. Nice, clean, quiet, healthy breakfast included but no pool/etc. Is easy to get too...I do like this chain as is run by Wynndom hotels which are expensive and doesn't tolerate any funny stuff. Usually has microwave/fridge too. Sometimes get a pool too...Best cheap chain I've found...Towels are always cheap but rest is pretty decent for price.
