I'm sorta jealous. The path of totality is literally right above where I used to live in KC. Seattle is at 92% coverage but it's not quite the same. According to the news KC and St. Joe can expect to be inundated with people coming in from out of state.

Even though the path is just north of downtown the roads are probably going to be jam packed.

Make sure you wear the sunblock glasses with the correct number printed on them - you can Google it ta get the number. The other glasses won't provide good enough blockage of the sun's rays and then...you'll be sorry.

I will be watching it. Hopefully the sky won't be cloudy.

Forecast is sunny for KC on Monday, fingers crossed. Try to get a bit north if you can, at least north of I-70. Northeast in Clay County looks great.

I plan to watch the eclipse from my patio in Gladstone. (All of Clay County, MO, is the path of totality.)

I've also invited my 72-year-old mother up from the south part of the city to watch the eclipse. I promised her that I would not charge her $200.00 for a lawn chair. --I'd give her the family discount of only $150.00 for a chair.

On January 31 of next year, we will also be treated to a full lunar eclipse.
The moon will appear a strange blood red color, that is why it is called a "Blood Moon"
Be sure to wear your special glasses next week when viewing the solar eclipse or you won't be able to see the lunar eclipse in January, you won't be able to see much of anything for that matter.

One local weather person now says partly cloudy next Monday . . .since the weather changes every 5 minutes, we'll just have to wait to find out.
