I was in Nashville last month and was mesmerized by the energy that it exuded. Not just on me but on everyone else as well. There were visitors to the city everywhere. The neon sights, the sounds, the people walking around all over the place made it feel like New York or New Orleans. I was very impressed.

I don't know what tier Nashville is in, but the people who run the place must think it is very high up because they have 12 and 14 lane highways, and they are constructing buildings on every other block. I wish the people in charge here would do the same things.

I think I would prefer they did something other than build 12-lane-wide highways in Kansas City.

But then again, they're not needed because the metropolitan area has the lowest level of traffic congestion in the Western Hemisphere. The freeways flow smoothly even at rush hour.

Bike riders that ride on city streets should have to carry insurance. They can and do cause damage to cars. However the taxing thing is just stupid.

Wait, so where are the politically conservative suppose to come down on this issue? Stricter regulation (Requiring cyclists to carry insurance)? Or greater personal liberty (as with firearms or health insurance)?

I really don't want to hear the same people saying that all bike commuters should be required to carry insurance, but also that the individual mandate for health insurance should be repealed. (And don't say that those without health insurance are only harming themselves. The taxpayer ends up paying $1000 for their care every time they show up at an emergency room with only a high fever. And that's just one example.)
