Hello to everyone...

I could potentially be relocating to the KC area. I have two kids that are very competitive cross country/track runners. I am looking for an area in Missouri/Kansas that offers a top notch High School Cross Country/Track program. Any idea where I should start my search?

Thanks!

Any of the bigger suburban districts like Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, Liberty, Park Hill etc would be good. I know that Blue Springs was always in the state finals competing with other large KC and St Louis districts, but their high schools are also huge so unless you are the very best, you may not make the teams in Blue Springs.

Couldn't tell you about the Kansas side. I would imagine it's the same deal there with the larger suburban districts like Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley.

If you would be working in Missouri, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Liberty. If working in Kansas any of the Johnson County suburbs Beware that if you live in or work in KC MO you will have to pay an earnings tax.

The KCMO earnings tax is 1%, if I remember correctly. Also, be aware that St. Thomas Aquinas is a private Catholic school.

Solid advice but Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, and maybe Liberty all have worse commutes to downtown than much of Johnson County.

Depending on where you'll be working, I'd recommend you look at Johnson Co KS Overland Park, Lenexa, Prairie Village, etc, Liberty, Parkville/Park Hill school district, and Lee's Summit. I think Blue Springs is ok but a clear step below the other places I mentioned and a pretty bad commute by KC standards to "the city".
