When I lived in Lawrence in the mid 90s Overland Park and Olathe were popular for their schools and for being safe. Is it still that way now or has it changed?

Still the same for sure. They've both doubled in size since the 90s but have maintained those qualities I would say.

Both are safe, and both still have good schools. Olathe is now the fourth most-populated city in Kansas.

It's still the same. Olathe, Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley school districts are all fine. Blue Valley is the highest rated of the three. https://www.niche.com/k12/search/bes...icts/s/kansas/

That's awesome. I have good memories of the area and haven't been there in ages. Great to hear.

I just stopped by the greater KC Science Fair at Union Station. Met a group of five HS seniors, from Shawnee Mission West and East. These kids are doing graduate-school-level research. One young woman had an impressive display of her study of certain chemical interactions with sub-cellular mitochondria. She had radiography and spectral charts alongside her written analysis on her project board.

The Shawnee Mission district apparently now offers an offsite institute that select students may spend two hours per day doing intensive research, in collaboration with college professors and other PhDs.

Although not medicine, I have decades of experience in a STEM industry. The mitochondrial project blew me away. I was impressed by these kids.
