We are supposed to close tomorrow on a home we are having built, We were actually supposed to close last week and the house was not complete. We had beautiful weather last week. Now here is the problem, builder waited until last min to lay sod and now there is no sod, inspecter coming out today. and builders contract states he will not escrow for anything. So our re agent told us to bring 3k more to closing tomorrow. Help, I need to close asap I not only have a broken foot but am 9 months preg and due in 2 weeks. With no where to live after tomorrow

You still have plenty of time to lay sod and it's a good idea to wait till the very last minute so it won't get tore up and somebody will be there to water it every day. Actually, I would wait till after you move in.

Sounds like you need to educate yourself more on the details of buying a home if you didn't know by now that your builder's loan doesn't escrow. That's something you should have figured out before ever even signing papers.

I can only imagine what else you have signed and how much you are bending over for the builder. Buying a home, especially from a builder, takes a lot of research or you can really be taken advantage of or make some poor financial decisions.

You are buying a brand new home and you don't have 3k in the bank? You have to pay that out anyway (taxes and insurance) whether it's part of your mortgage payment or not.

Having said that, closing on a home (especially a new home being built) on time is probably rare. Nothing seems to happen the way you want when it comes to buying houses.
