I'm flying out this coming week through Kansas City Airport, and I'm wondering if I need to get their extra early to get through security. I'm flying domestically. Normally I get to the airport an hour before the plane leaves, and I end up sitting and waiting for at least a half an hour.

I fly into and out of KCI all the time. If I check bags, I "try" to get there an hour before departure. If I don't have bags to check, it's usually more like 30-45 minutes. Sometimes it's 10 and they are calling my name .

I don't think things like the christmas event effect KCI much.

I was thinking more about the recent terrorist scares.

My uncle flew back to Newark last night. He didn't have issues getting on the plane, but they sat on the runway for a VERY LONG TIME!
