Want to move to kansas have read many threads and did a lot of looking on internet for best cowboy/Ranch town - can be large but want that small town feel.
Am in mid twentys with a four year old daughter and live in a small town so want to keep that feeling and want to be surrounded by ranches.

Oh! You just mean drugstore.

I thought you were meant actual, working cowboys.

Nevermind.

You changed your first post entirely...
Half an hour after I replied to it.

Why not just clarify instead of changing it completely?

I wasn't being snide, actually. I clicked on your thread title (also changed) expecting something entirely different than your actual post.
Just from what you had said in your first post, the criteria you listed made it seem like you were wanting a town where you find dress-up cowboys...
My apologies if I misunderstood your now-absent post.

To your question-- why aren't you moving back to the country town you grew up in, since that's what you're after?

Manhattan, KS - KSU Wildcat country. Near the Flint Hills... Beautiful country

Small town but real country is the Gyp Hills of Kansas near Medicine Lodge

Totally agree with geekychick! Medicine Lodge and the gyp hills are beautiful! Ted Turner (as in Turner classic movies, owns the Altlanta Braves...) has a ranch in the gyp hills with buffalo You can't get much more cowboy/ranch town than that! It's a great small town of about 2500 people, and a good place to raise your daughter. It's only an hour and a half from Wichita, so your not too far from the city!
