Hello I am considering a move to Manhattan Kansas, I am Latino (Mexican-American) and I would like to get some information regarding the attitudes of the majority of the population in Manhattan KS towards to Latinos.

Manhattan is home to Kansas State University so it has plenty of diversity. the people there are friendly overall.

You speak English so you'll be fine. The only time I've seen problems is when there is a language barrier.

By 1930 the number of Mexican immigrants in Kansas was second only to the Germans. The largest communities formed in Kansas City, Topeka, Emporia, Wichita, and Garden City

I would think with Manhattan being as close to Topeka and Salina that the Hispanic population is well rooted there by now.

I'm Mexican and am proud of the number of Hispanics living here. Manhattan is a great melting pot of cultures and quite welcoming.

You won't have any issues in Manhattan. The same can't be said for the other small towns in that area.
