Just passed the legislature! You guys are unbelievable!

The Life of Pi

Most people think of Pi -- if they think of it at all, that is -- as having a value of 3.14159. But in the March 2013 Kansans for Science and Reason newsletter, physicist Mark Boslough wrote that the Kansas state legislature voted to change the value from 3.14159 to the 'biblical value' of 3.0.

It is a recycled April Fool's Day joke. Boslough did the same thing with Alabama years ago.

But I wouldn't put it past the Kansas legislature to try it someday.

Default The fact that this is believable..

Is an indictment on how crazy the decisions coming out of wing-nutty conservative legislatures have been over the past few years. i.e. Hey, the facts don't agree with our ideology? We will just pass a law and make that fact illegal!

On a related note, March 14th is often referred to a "pi-day" in my family and we enjoy eating delicious pie. (It's a great excuse after all).

I think most rational people don't view the legislature passing something like this as "believable".

However, if you want to cite some legislation that has been passed that is comparable to this, I'd be interested in seeing what you are claiming.
