Yesterday I got ticket for speeding @ 120 .The fine was around 420 $ and 96 $ docket fees .I know its kinda reckless to drive @ 120 but it was my first time and I just drove at that speed for few secs since the road was empty .So is there any way I could reduce this fine and also please let me know is there any educational course I could take so that this citation would be removed from my record .

Thanks in advance

i guess the road wasn't REALLY empty since there was a cop there to catch you.

Contact a lawyer. Typically you can talk to one for a few minutes for some free legal advise.

I've used a (pre-paid) lawyer in the pass for some hefty tickets, they can help you with getting the point deduction by half or even a 1/4 of what it would be. However, they NEVER can get the fine reduced. The prevailing idea is that you can afford to speed, you can afford to pay the fine, additionally some fines are mandated by state statute minimum amounts, which means no matter how sad your story is, the fine sticks. If you can not pay the fine in full, you can go to your court date or sometimes call the court clerk the day or two before, and negotiate a payment plan with the Judge or the Court Clerk.

You MIGHT be able, with a lawyer, to get it reduced to a non-moving violation, but I'm not sure they would even entertain it in this extreme of violation. But the non-moving fine and the attorney fees will be greater than what you're facing now.

I think this is just going to be some pretty high tuition in the school of hard knocks. I hope you learn from it.
