While your statistics are correct you're throwing out more opinion then fact. The town has not been taken over by illegal immigrants, and you do not have to speak Spanish to work there... Don't make it sound like Liberal is a scum-hole completely lacking in being a happy, functioning community. Your posts on SW Kansas have gotten considerably worse over the last few years. Especially for someone who doesn't actually live down there to see the good and bad changes. Sure water has become a big issue for the western half, but there are good things going on in Finney, Ellis, Ford, and Scott Counties.

Right, just toss the future water supply issues under the rug like it doesn't exist at all. The bottom line is that there won't be much in the way of an adequate supply of water for many areas of SW Kansas 50 years from now, even with dramatic changes in use and efficiency. Too many bad decisions were made in the past regarding water use issues and the profligate use of the resources and a warmer climate with more frequent drought possibilities (warmer average temperatures increase rates of evapotranspiration). This is another big reason why the coal plant expansion at Holcomb was fought. Ratepayers lose, the people lose, the climate loses, and Colorado gets electricity.
Yes, you should expect to speak Spanish if you're considering moving to SW Kansas. That is just the fact of the matter, particularly if you're involved in the business community.
