Might be moving to Dodge City, KS and was wondering about the Jr/Sr High schools there, will have a kid in that grade level. Have heard about heavy gang involvement in Dodge City schools, so was wondering about neighboring school districts. Any help greatly appreciated :0)

I'm from Southwest Kansas I would recommend sending your kids to Cimarron or Spearville if at all possible. The school districts in Garden City, Dodge City, and Liberal are hispanic majority so the education can be low quality at times because of unruly students. There have been cited instances of students being bullied just for being caucasian, and even hispanic kids bullying other hispanic kids for being "too white" or "not speaking spanish" in those three districts. Overall outside of the school districts the three towns are not bad places to live. Dodge has a Casino and a nice events center, Garden City has a multitude of big box shopping that can't be found elsewhere between Wichita and Denver, and Liberal has a lame-ish Oz museum and a fun waterpark.

Big Bullying problem in the Dodge City Schools. I pulled my kids out during their first school year there. Not only in school, but on the Buses!!!!

You can check out these towns/schools:

Cimmaron
Jetmore 2 schools Elementary goes up until 6th grade. Then 7-12 in the JH/HS
Spearville
Minneola - It's 1 school... K-12th

All within 20 plus miles.

I do know with Minneola, Dodge City buses them half way to the school (It's approx 22 miles from Dodge city) Then Minneola picks them up at the half way mark...

Spearville, Lots of Parents drive from Dodge City daily - for their kids to attend there.

Jetmore - 25 miles from Dodge... Nice town - Good School.

Cimarron is approx 20 miles from Dodge - I hear it's a good school. Have friends/family that live there...

So you do have a few options you can look into..
