Yeah, I don't care about the links, I have been following Kobach since I realized he was on board with the plague that illegal aliens are for the state.

Well, for the most part, we have gotten ahead of voter fraud: Got Voter ID? • S.A.F.E. Act • Kansas Secretary of State Kris W. Kobach

Ninth person convicted of voter fraud in Kansas | The Topeka Capital-Journal While 9 isn't a big number, it serves to let those voting illegally that they may be number 10.

Kobach is right about KS not doing enough to curb illegal immigration in the state. Over 4,000 people with disabilities await services through the Medicaid waiver, the wait is in years, often more than 5 years, yet illegals aliens use the emergency room for their medical care, including child birth and the cost to KS taxpayers is $42 million per year and that was in 2010 and they procreate like rabbits to bring in more public assistance: Study: Illegal Immigrants Cost Kansas Taxpayers $442 million - Watchdog.org

Kobach blasts benefits to illegal immigrants, defends Brownback tax cuts | The Wichita Eagle

I know some find enforcing the laws offensive, and there are better states than KS for them when they feel this way.

Yes I get it you like him because he shares your prejudice. If undocumented immigrants voting actually was a widespread issue then I might be sympathetic but it isn't. And now Kobach has spent a whole lot of time and resources on solving a problem that doesn't exist. Resources, by the way, that are even more scare because of policies for which he has advocated. Any objective person would have a problem with this. An objective person would have a problem with policies that do more to stop people from voting than they do to prevent fraud.

Also interesting to note is that the person highlighted in your article was not an illegal immigrant. I wonder how many of the 9 were?

Your link about how much immigrants cost tax payers is silly. The bullk of those costs are schools. The immigrants who work jobs pay taxes. Immigrants who have property pay property tax either directly or through their landlord. If they buy goods they pay sales tax. But go ahead and ignore this.

What is an "undocumented" immigrants? Legal immigrants have documents, if they lose them, they can contact the appropriate authorities to get them reissued.

So, you find it "prejudice" to enforce the laws of our country on some while letting others break them?

Actually, by nailing a few on fraudulent voting, it will discourage some to leave and others not to come to suck the teat of public assistance in our state. Fraudulent voting isn't always illegal aliens and at least one of the cases did not involve an illegal, but people who are voting in more than one state, people using the identities of death people (OK, that is most likely illegal aliens although they steal identities from living, dead and their own children who they name after themselves in order to get a SS#), etc.

Resources? You want to continue that conversation? OK.

A look at the cost of not enforcing immigration laws in KS, and my advice based on what I have been reading is that you should start sending out your resume or learning to say Governor Kobach!

As far as undocumented, that is a myth as most have stolen the identity of an American citizen adding to the list of crimes they committed.

Don't talk to me about "prejudice" as I grew in MI and have lived across the country and awarded KS the state I would most want to avoid if I were a black American, and I lived in 3 southern states!

It is a more accurate way to describe the people we are talking about. In the legal sense being in the us without the proper legal documents is a civil violation not a criminal one. It is also a less dehumanizing way of discussing individuals who are, like it or not, actual human being. I think this is a good thing to strive for in all conversations.

Just reread my comments and no I didn't say this. Nice try.

I am struggling to see a coherent argument here. You state that "nailing" a few will discourage people from doing it in the future, if that is what is necessary surely you have proof of widespread fraud that has occurred before Mr. Kobach started nailing these people right? I'll wait...

That is a huge claim that would require evidence to be credible. So far you have not presented any. Especially interested in your proof that "most" have stolen an identity.

Your ability to recognize other prejudice in a separate situation doesn't mean you are not showing it here.

Very strange to see a solid RED state like Kansas having a income tax and a high sales tax but still can't pay for things.

We were when we had a democratic governor, but then the state elected a disaster twice. The second time had some dubious circumstances around the results, but our even crazier secretary of state won't allow anyone near the voting machines, and now he is running for governor in the next election. I personally feel like he should have to step down before that point to ensure there are no conflicts of interest. You know, since he wouldn't let anyone prove that there wasn't any tampering done to the machines last time.

Oklahoma is even more red and is the very same way plus food is taxed. As a result, teachers are leaving Oklahoma from low pay. Doctors will be joining them, if Oklahoma can't pay enough Medicaid.

We enjoy paying out the nose like a liberal state, but we don't enjoy any of their benefits like legalized marijuana, increased public services, or expanded Medicaid. Instead, we are stuck with regressive laws, private prison systems, and only one county that produces any type of job creation. This state has done next to nothing to attract the youth who will be graduating college, leaving a giant crater where the educated people should be. 50 years from now, Kansas will be a complete wasteland, and Johnson County won't be able to prop up the entire state.

KS tried tax cuts in a plan that was doomed from the start and now with the failure front and center is having to raise them back up.

Why? Because unlike some states they can't just stack on debt.

*shrug*

My home state of Illinois just proposed a 5+ billion dollar tax increase and their rates are already high.

P.S. Not every state has a bunch of tourists to pick up the tab but then you guys get to deal with a high percentage of elderly that won't generally back school funding so I guess we all have our crosses to bear.
