There are 24,801 posts in this Kansas forum; fewer than any other state (sure, some of the 66,160 KC posts asked about KC,KS; but then Springfield has ~ 19K). My guess is anyone considering relocating to Kansas has come to their senses; or maybe some LLC failed to offer them a job?

Income TAXES are a moot point for us, as Federal Govt (& military) retirees don't pay any on retirement $. Although we're native Kansans, the state no longer has any +s worth the -s.

I just looked out at the forum and dozens of states have fewer posts.

Are you ok?

Because this makes me seriously questions all of your claims and comments since you don't seem to be coherent.

I don’t see the correlation because these forums existed well before the tax policy changes. As you mentioned, Kansas’s main metro, KC is in another states sub forum.

If we took 20% of KCs posts and add them to Kansas’s 24,000. I’m doing 20% because the Kansas side is smaller. That adds 13,000 posts to Kansas and brings the total to about the same as Iowa and ahead of North Dakota.

Most of Kansas has below average crime rates, higher then average schools, higher then average household incomes, and lower then average cost of living. Those seem like some good positives. Our negatives are we are a boring state, no mountains, no ocean or major lakes or even rivers, no major historical centers or destinations, no theme parks or other major entertainment destinations. We don’t have anything to draw people here besides a decent life. We are too far from the ports for manufacturers who export and that’s why many of our airplane manufacturers left. Agriculture isn’t going to see much growth and it surely isn’t going to bring in young people. On top of all of that our weather is downright awful relative to many states. 75% of our state is never going to see population growth ever again. That’s just the reality. There are really only 2 regions of Kansas that I believe will see any decent growth, the Wichita metro and the Manhattan-KC corridor. Not many other places have much if anything to offer.

Tonganoxie just rejected a $300 million food processing plant because the locals see it as a detriment to their life quality. If one looks at comparable cities I can see why they rejected it, growth for growth sake might not always be good, but what else can Kansas towns draw in. Reality was that plant was going to bring in a bunch of low pay migrant workers, and I doubt that would have a positive on the local economy. On top of that the local government would be subsidizing the manufacturing plant.

Show one state with fewer than 24,812 POSTS on this C-D page

Recheck your Math & show your work for partial credit! KS has fewest # of threads as well, although US Territories have fewer.

i.e.: Nebraska has 54,200 POSTS, > Kansas' 24,812 POSTS

I stand corrected, I was looking at the numbers on a smaller screen and was looking at the wrong column.

You are correct, Kansas has the fewest posts.

These are all valid points.

Another strong point to consider is that the majority of posts have nothing to do with relocation but ask about everything from vacation spots (KS has very very few) and a host of other odds-n-ends.

So what's the big take-away here after all?

KS made some changes, they weren't working so they addressed the issue. Some people felt they'd work, others felt differently, but in the end actual common sense prevailed in the face of actual evidence.

Frankly events like this make me less jaded about politics and government (which is a rare occurrence)

The first KS post is dated 01-31-2006. Brownback's tax policy went into effect in 2012; so ~ 6 years' of posts without; 6 years with. . .

The correlation is between # of posts = interest in Kansas vs 49 other states. Kansas appears to be 50th w/out KC, KS.

I suppose we Kansans could admit that it's likely more people would be interested in ND & IA than Kansas.

I view your coherent statement to be defamatory. You don't like my posts in general. That's fine. Please use the ignore button, I'll understand.
