The state of Kansas does now own a decent chunk of land in the transitional area between NW and SW Kansas in purchasing Little Jerusalem. I thought they were going to purchase Monument Rocks as well, but I haven't heard anything on that recently.

AFAIK => NOT the state of Kansas, but the Nature Conservancy:

Matt Bain and the Nature Conservancy of Kansas are eager share one of their most beautiful Kansas properties with the public.

TNC's Little Jerusalem public access would be welcome, but somewhat incongruent with other TNC Kansas properties:

TNC is considering closing Konza Prairie hiking trails.

When I surveyed fall flowering angiosperms @ TNC's 2,188-acre Flint Hills Tallgrass Prairie Preserve east of Cassoday (one-time Prairie Chicken Capital hosting large #s of hunters for breakfast) in 1979, overgrazing was rampant. The only big bluestem in flower was on heavily eroded ground out of reach of bovines. I reported Downy gentian blooming in Sept. Years later, Craig Freeman (Senior Scientist, Kansas Biological Survey. Senior Curator, R.L. McGregor Herbarium) would take a bus tour to see newly discovered Downy gentian in bloom there.

We are TNC members.

They're also considering not opening Little Jerusalem now as of the last story that the Wichita news ran the other day. I guess some guy landed his airplane in the middle of a field waiting to be harvested and then cut wires to let himself in and may have ruined it for the rest of us.

I'm not saying that I haven't went over there myself, but I went in though an open gate on an oil access road and made sure to not step upon any flowering wildlife or climb fragile chalk formations.

Default Whitewater outdoor center at Clinton State Park ‘on back burner’ for now

Here KS is, 49th or 50th in per capita public lands, & KDWP&T wants to give some acres to what they've described as "not a water park (I kid you not)!"

Seems like you're just casting about looking for something to whine about and vilify KS.

Hey look, they're 49th in cheese consumption by left handed dentists! Those jerks!

Also, you need to start sourcing your claims because frankly nobody can trust your claims when you're obviously just here to axe grind.
